Byron Bay

Today we had the opportunity to go to Byron Bay!! The weather was absolutely beautiful! First we took a walk by a light house on the shore of the coast. We than decided to get some lunch and get a few souvenirs. The best part was when we went to the beach. The waves were huge and everyone was jumping into them and trying to body surf. Of course the sun was extremely hot and after being outside for about 5 hours we decided to go back to Lismore. Unfortinately, tonight is our last night here at Southern Cross University in Lismore and we will be heading back to Brisbane tomorrow at 11:00 am. We will than get the opportunity to help restore the land by either repairing sand dunes or planting trees.

I think it was amazing how you and other passengers on this trip got to see all the wild life. I would love to see koalas up close, but seeing them in the pics was also cool. And the videos were awesome. I wasn't all that noise!

Project Director - Courtney Bauder

G'day Mates...My name is Courtney Bauder and I am leading this group of students to Australia this January. I am very excited because my mother is also coming on the trip with us. I am a teacher at UW Oshkosh and I love to travel. I have been lucky enough to travel all over the world. I have worked with children when I lived and taught in China, Japan, and Germany and have traveled all over Europe, east Africa, southern Asia, and central America, and I love to make friends with people from different cultures. Hello....I'm Heather Drunasky. I am a 21 year old senior working towards a degree in Liberal Studies. I am also working towards a minor in Women's Studies and Art. I am planning on going to graduate school once I graduate with my undergrad. I am not sure what I want to study in grad school. I know once I am all done with school, I am moving out to New York City. I am extremely excited to be able to take this trip and learn more about a different culture. This will be my first time out of the country without my family. This whole trip will definitely be a learning experience for me.

Hello!! I’m Jenny Braun. My major is Finance and Marketing along with a minor in Global Business. I really enjoy traveling and seeing what other parts of the world have to offer. I have currently traveled to multiple countries in Europe such as: Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Italy, France, and Belgium. I have also had the opportunity to explore the Cayman Islands, the Bahamas, and New Providence Island: Nassau. I look forward to discovering Australia and sharing this experience with you!

My name is Jordan I am in Grad School at the U of O. I went to St. Joe's school for fifth grade in the Town of Big Bend WI, small little class of maybe 20. I am 24 years old and have a brother that is 22. He is on this trip with me, his name is Blake. Beach volleyball is my favorite activity, I have played in Japan, Spain, California and so on. I won a State Championship at my High School, Catholic Memorial for volleyball. I have played on Oshkosh Men's team for the past 5 years and have an All-American award and a couple National Championships.
